Copayment Health Insurance Plans

These Colorado medical plans do not have deductibles, so covered members with Copayment Plans tend to save on their out-of-pocket expenses. Health care benefits such as doctor visits and prescription drugs are covered with a copayment immediately. Be aware that some of these Colorado health plans cover Rx and some do not. You can save a little on your monthly premium by choosing a plan without prescription drug coverage, but most applicants choose to pay a little more to have a plan that covers Rx. Labs and X-rays are also covered with copayments. These Kaiser Colorado plans tend to have lower out-of-pocket maximums as well. The Copayment Plans tend to be more expensive than the deductible plans, but many find that the peace of mind they get from knowing ahead of time what their out-of-pocket expenses will be makes it worth it.

Kaiser Colorado Plans with HSA

Colorado health insurance plans with the HSA designation signify that these plans give you the option of opening a health savings account. If you purchase one of these medical plans, you do not have to open an HSA. However, we highly recommend going to Wells Fargo or another financial institution to open a health savings account. Having an HSA allows you to deduct many of your medical expenses from your federal taxes. Put money in your HSA like you would put money into a bank account. Then, use the debit card associated with your health savings account to pay for doctor visits, prescription drugs, over the counter medications and other qualified medical expenses. For example, if you purchased a $2,000 (100%) HSA Deductible Plan, you could put $2,000 into your health savings account to fully fund your deductible. By doing this, in essence you have bought yourself 100% coverage. All your expenses up to your $2,000 deductible will be covered by your HSA, and after $2,000 your plan covers the rest of your out-of-pocket expenses. This is a great way to purchase peace of mind for you and your family, and if you end up not using all the money in your health savings account that year, the money stays in the account for the next year. You own your HSA account. It always stays with you, and upon your passing it becomes an inheritable item for your beneficiaries.

Kaiser Permanente Deductible Plans for Colorado

Our deductible medical insurance plans in Colorado cover doctor visits with a copayment before the deductible is met. Most of the deductible plans cover prescription medications, but some do not. Also, there is differing Rx coverage on these plans. Most cover generic drugs with a copayment right away and only have an Rx deductible for brand name drugs. Be sure to check into the details of your plan regarding medications before making your selection. Hospitalization usually involves the covered member paying 20% or 30% coinsurance. Some labs and X-rays are free under these healthcare plans, and some involve paying coinsurance. The out-of-pocket maximum is added onto the deductible and usually goes up with the higher deductible health insurance plans.
